Although not legally binding, an upcoming advisory opinion by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) is likely to have a major impact promoting antisemitism and BDS against Israel around the world.
At the end of last year, the UN General Assembly (UNGA) passed a resolution containing a litany of false allegations against Israel. It concluded by requesting the ICJ’s opinion on two loaded questions:

Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh created a ministerial committee to promote the development of Area C declaring that region of the West Bank to be an “integral part of the State of Palestine.”
He warned his cabinet on Monday that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government was working to “annex” that region. It comprises 60% of the West Bank and is under IDF military and civilian control, but the PA believes that all that territory should be part of its final borders.

Police arrested five suspects, including four adults and a minor, on Wednesday on suspicion of assaulting Christians by spitting on them in Jerusalem’s Old City. Footage released by the police show some of the detainees during a Jewish procession celebrating Sukkot in the Old City led by the brother of the Knesset’s Constitution, Law and Justice Committee Chair Simcha Rothman, who also participated.

The Anglican Church of Southern Africa (ACSA), which brings together over 4 million Christian believers from South Africa and four other countries located in the southern part of Africa, officially adopted a resolution last week declaring Israel as an apartheid state.
The organization, formerly led by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Desmond Tutu, is considered highly influential in the struggle against the apartheid regime led in South Africa in the last century.

A 16-year-old Iranian girl is lying in a coma after she was allegedly assaulted at a metro station in Tehran by agents of the regime’s feared morality police.
Armita Garawand was spotted on Sunday morning in the Iranian capital’s Shohada metro station apparently wearing her hijab, or head covering, inappropriately. The Islamic republic’s strict dress rules for women require they wear a hijab.

An extraordinary article in Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Jarida has claimed that Iran is seeking to create a complex deal in Syria, so as to transfer weapons from Hezbollah to Syrian regime-backed Arab tribes, as well as to send arms to Moscow.
Maariv described this as a four-way deal, one that threatens both Israel and Ukraine. The interplay between Russia, Iran, Hezbollah and Syria has always been complex, with any movement benefitting Hezbollah or Iran-backed proxies seen a threat.

(August 17, 2023 / JNS) The three-hour film “Oppenheimer,” which dramatizes the life of Jewish physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, the “father of the atomic bomb,” has already earned more than $650 million worldwide. Depending on where one sees the film, it might be judenrein.
MANTUA, Italy — The Italian government has agreed to pay Holocaust reparations on behalf of Germany in July via a newly established fund, drawing a mixed reaction from the country’s Jews.
The fund was approved by the government of former prime minister Mario Draghi in April 2022, after a legal battle in the UN’s top court between Germany and Italy over continued civil claims against Germany for Nazi war crimes.
(August 21, 2023 / JNS) Andreas Lajst, director of the Brazil chapter of StandWithUs, was to deliver a talk on Aug. 10 at the Federal University of Amazonas about the capacity of Israeli technology to aid isolated Brazilian populations.
When the Arab-Palestinian Federation of Brazil got wind of the event, it wrote online that “the university cannot be a stage to defend an apartheid regime.”
Billionaire businessman Elon Musk said Friday he would severely curtail the ability to block other users on the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, drawing a rebuke from the Auschwitz museum.
Responding to a post on X from an account run by owners of Teslas, the electric car company he heads, Musk said the “block” feature would be removed except for direct messages.

The redesign of Adolf Hitler’s birth house will go ahead as planned, starting on October 2, Austria’s interior ministry said Monday, after a documentary aired new claims about the late Nazi dictator’s wishes for it.
Following years of legal wrangling, the government decided to turn the house in the northern Austrian town of Braunau, where Hitler was born in 1889, into a police station with a human rights training center.

Berlin Chief Rabbi Yehuda Teichtal was asked last week to remove his kippah during a security check at Berlin Brandenburg Airport, a request to which he vehemently refused.
Security personnel tried to explain to the rabbi that it was a standard procedure and that everyone passing through security gates adheres to the instructions. Rabbi Teichtal clarified to them that, as far as he was aware, there was no such directive and he firmly declined.
Upon returning to Berlin last weekend, Rabbi Teichtal held an urgent meeting with the President of the Federal Police of Germany (PrÀsident Bundespolizei Deutschland) Dr. Dieter Romann. The police chief was shocked to hear about Rabbi Teichtal's experience and explicitly told him that there is no such directive....
