The Energy Ministry is finalizing a potentially revolutionary plan, to be submitted to the government by March 18, to turn the newly renamed Tekuma region along the Gaza border into a flagship for energy independence and renewable energy.
The NIS 3 billion ($836 million) initiative focuses on harnessing solar energy to produce a massive five gigawatts of power, the ministry announced at last week’s Eilat Eilot Renewable Energy conference in the Red Sea city.

(March 5, 2024 / JNS) - Elected officials are paying increasing attention to the question of “the day after” the Israel-Hamas war. It is certain that, whenever and however the war ends, billions in humanitarian and development aid will pour into Gaza, including from the U.S. and Europe.
To ensure this aid has a positive impact, donors must address the problem of Hamas’s years-long diversion of aid to terrorist purposes. They must ensure it does not happen again.
Oktober in Israel zeigen soll.
(March 3, 2024 / JNS) - The day after President Joe Biden announced that the United States would begin airdrops of humanitarian aid to Gaza, U.S. military planes parachuted pallets of food and water over the beach in the southwest of the Strip.

(March 5, 2024 / JNS) - Israel on Tuesday slammed the European Union’s decision last week to partially restore funding to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency before an investigation concludes into the U.N. agency’s links to Hamas and the Oct. 7 terrorist attack.
In response to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, the United States, in collaboration with Jordan, has conducted its second airdrop of essential aid supplies into the region within a span of four days.
The US Army's Central Command (Centcom) provided further insight into the joint operation, which involved US Air Force C-130 aircraft and specialized US Army Soldiers tasked with aerial delivery of humanitarian assistance supplies.
During the opening remarks of the discussion, Netanyahu reaffirmed Israel's longstanding policy of upholding religious freedom, particularly during the Ramadan holiday. He pledged to ensure that Muslims can observe the holiday with freedom and dignity while prioritizing security and safety measures

A Jewish man living in London has described the moment when he received his UK-born six-month-old daughter’s birth certificate partially ripped and with the word “Israel,” his own birthplace, blotted out.
Israel Weinberger, a married engineer father of three from Edgware in north London, told Sky News on Tuesday it was “horrendous.”
Switzerland's government said on Wednesday it wants to ban Hamas after the Palestinian terror group's attacks in Israel last year, which killed nearly 1,200 people and sparked a war in Gaza.
Bern said it was taking action after the attacks on October 7, which killed two Swiss nationals and resulted in nearly 250 people being taken hostage.

Harvard University is embroiled in a new controversy over anti-Semitism following the online sharing of an offensive cartoon by a group of professors.
The caricature, originally from 1967, depicts a hand adorned with the dollar symbol inside a Star of David, wielding nooses around figures resembling Muhammad Ali and former Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser.
“The university is aware of social media posts today containing deeply offensive antisemitic tropes and messages from organizations whose membership includes Harvard affiliates,” the university said, speaking from its Instagram account. “Such despicable messages have no place in the Harvard community. We condemn these posts in the strongest possible terms.”
