<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0cm 0cm 7.2pt; mso-para-margin-bottom: .6gd;"><span class="textexposedshow2"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt; mso-hide: none;">Der Israelische Soldat, Gilad Shalit (<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gilad_Shalit">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gilad_Shalit), <span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">wurde vor über 4 Jahren von der Hamas in den Gazastreifen entführt und wird seither als Geisel gehalten. „Vier Jahre, zwei Regierungen, zwei Premierminister, zwei Verteidigungsminister und zwei Befehlshaber der Streitkräfte Israels" versuchten erfolglos einen Gefangenenaustausch mit der Hamas durchzusetzen. Das Internationale Rote Kreuz hat dem Soldaten den Status eines „Kriegsgefangenen" (<span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prisoner_of_war" target="_blank">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prisoner_of_war) zuerkannt. Internationales Recht garantiert Kriegsgefangenen Besuche des Internationalen Roten Kreuzes und Kontakt mit ihren Familien. Durch die Nichteinhaltung dieser Regeln verstößt die Hamas gegen international geltendes Menschenrecht.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0cm 0cm 7.2pt; mso-para-margin-bottom: .6gd;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">Die Bemühungen des Internationalen Roten Kreuzes für eine Freilassung von Shalit aus der Geiselhaft sind nicht ausreichend. Wir fordern vom Internationalen Roten Kreuz, der Hamas ein Ultimatum zu stellen, Gilad Shalit gemäß internationalem Recht besuchen zu dürfen und Kontakt mit seiner Familie herzustellen. Bei Nichteinhaltung soll die Hamas als Kriegsverbrecher vor dem Internationalen Gerichtshof verklagt werden.

PETITITON TO THE INTERNATIONAL RED CROSS

 

The Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gilad_Shalit) was kidnapped by Hamas over four year ago from Israeli soil and has been held ever since. "Four years, two governments, two prime ministers, two defence ministers, two heads of the Israeli Armed Forces" have unsuccessfully tried to secure a prisoners exchange with Hamas. The International Red Cross has given Shalit the status of a "POW" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prisoner_of_war). International law guarantees POWs visits by the Red Cross and contact with their families. By not complying with these rules, Hamas is violating international human rights.

The attempts by the International Red Cross to secure Shalits' release from captivity have not been sufficient. We demand from the International Red Cross for Hamas to be given an ultimatum to be allowed to visit Gilad Shalit and the establish contact with his family in accordance with international laws. In case of non-compliance, Hamas should be tried as war criminals in front of the International Criminal Court of Justice.

The ICRC has means and ways to put pressure behind its demands and to enforce them. After all these years it's overdue that these means start being used!
