      Die internationale Staatengemeinschaft ist sich einig: Eine nukleare Bewaffnung des Iran muss verhindert werden. In Berlin kamen die Außenminister Chinas, Deutschlands, Frankreichs, Großbritanniens, Russlands, der USA sowie der EU-Außenbeauftragte daher überein, eine neue Sanktionsresolution des VN-Sicherheitsrats auf den Weg zu bringen. Gleichzeitig bleibt die Hand zu Gesprächen ausgestreckt. Die so genannten E3+3  wollen auch in Zukunft das Gespräch mit der iranischen Führung suchen.
      Bundesaußenminister Frank-Walter Steinmeier dankte seinen Amtskollegen, dass „wir uns nach einer intensiven Diskussion über die Elemente einer Sicherheitsratsresolution verständigt haben.“ Deutschland, Frankreich und Großbritannien unterbreiten nun – wie in diesem Zusammenhang üblich – im Namen der E3+3 dem Sicherheitsrat der VN einen Resolutionsentwurf. Dieser werde dort in den kommenden Wochen im Rahmen der gängigen Verfahren mit den Mitgliedern des Sicherheitsrates beraten werden, so Steinmeier.
      Die Außenminister waren sich in ihrem Gespräch einig: eine nukleare Bewaffnung des Iran hätte dramatische Konsequenzen – für die Region des Nahen und Mittleren Ostens und weit darüber hinaus.

    Der Fußball-Verband des Iran hat Javier Clemente als Nationaltrainer verpflichtet. Verbandssprecher Mehdi Taj bestätigte der Nachrichtenagentur ISNA, dass der spanische Coach am Donnerstag in Bilbao einen von der Fußball-Föderation des Iran (FFI) angebotenen Dreijahresvertrag unterschrieben habe. Taj wies darauf hin, dass Clementes finanzielle Vorstellungen unter denen von anderen Bewerben um den Nationaltrainer-Posten gelegen haben sollen. Am Mittwoch hatte ein FFI-Offizieller der Nachrichtenagentur Mehr bestätigt, dass Ex-Nationalspieler Lothar Matthäus der Wunschkandidat des iranischen Verbandes sein soll. Der deutsche Rekord- Internationale hatte sich daraufhin gesprächsbereit gezeigt.

    TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki voiced his country’s preparedness to supply gas to the EU’s flagship Nabucco gas pipeline.
    „The EU has already pointed out the need to diversify its gas supplies. One of the areas in which Iran can cooperate with Europe in the energy sector is Nabucco,“ Mottaki said in Sofia.
    „Russia is the world’s biggest gas supplier, followed by Iran. Both countries seek bigger markets,“ he also said.
    „What choice Europe will make depends on Europe itself,“ he added.
    The European Union is planning to build the 3,300-kilometre (2,050-mile) Nabucco pipeline to transport gas from the Middle East and Central Asia to its energy-hungry consumers in Europe while bypassing Russia.

    Rome, 15 Nov.  – Iran’s hardline president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad continues to call the United Nations sanctions ‚worthless scrap paper‘. Iran’s economy and finance minister Davoud Danesh Jaafari calls for the „defeat of financial terrorism and those who want to bring Iran to its knees.“ But economic experts reject these claims as „pure propaganda“.
    Less than a year after the sanctions were introduced, Iran’s banks and major industries are already on the point of collapse, inflation and unemployment is rampant, while foreign capital has dried up and Iranian capital is pouring into Dubai and other countries in the region.
    Iran’s international financial institutions such as Swiss and German banks have been the first to sever ties with Iran, followed by smaller banks in Malaysia and Singapore, Dutch, French and Italian banks. Many of these have also closed accounts owned by Iranian citizens.

    Iran and Syria here on Wednesday called for further expansion of all-out bilateral relations between the two countries particularly in the areas of economy, commerce and industry.
    The remarks were made during a meeting held between the visiting Iranian Commerce Minister Masoud Mir-Kazemi and Syrian Minister of Industry, Fuad Isa Juni, and Minister of Economy and Trade, Amir Husni Lutfi.
    Tehran-Damascus trade exchanges stood at dlrs 200 million in 2007, out of which Iran’s exports to Syria amounted to dlrs 180 million.
    During the meeting, Juni referred to Iran-Syria relations as strengthened.
    He said there are great potentials in both countries for further expansion of bilateral cooperation in all areas.
    The Syrian minister reiterated that the two countries‘ leaders attach great importance to boost in bilateral ties.

    In his second sermon Friday, Tehran interim Friday prayer leader Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati slammed world leaders, human rights bodies, and heads of Islamic states for remaining silent on the situation in Gaza, accusing them of making „only one proposal for a U.N. Security Council session, which failed to issue a resolution against the Zionists‘ crimes.“
    He said, referring to Muslim ulemaa and Al-Azhar University officials, „Why don’t you fight for saving the oppressed… You should today give statements and instigate the public against the Zionists,“ and added that another Karbala and Ashura are taking place in Palestine (a reference to the murder of the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad).
    He lauded Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for consulting with certain Muslim heads of state on Palestine, praised Ahmadinejad and Iranian MPs, students, and citizens for their sympathy for the oppressed and defenseless people of Gaza, and expressed his hope for a day when the Palestinian nation would celebrate its victory.
    In a rally following prayers, tens of thousands of worshipers shouted slogans such as „Down with the U.S., and „Israel commits crimes and the U.S. supports it,“ and called on the international community to act against Israel. They were joined by political, religious, civil and military figures. Following the rally, a resolution was issued condemning Israel’s actions following Annapolis and U.S. President Bush’s visit to the Middle East.

Writing in the IRGC daily Sobh-e Sadeq, Javani said that during the eight years of their rule, Iran’s reformists had sought to restrict the authority of Iran’s supreme leader, to come to terms with the West and with the U.S., to establish a civil society, and to present the culture of shahada (martyrdom) as violent. In addition, the association of Friday preachers asked preachers to attack reformists in Friday prayers. In a letter to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, the reformist Mojahedeen-e Inqilab-e Eslam party said that the propaganda and attacks against it are making the elections unfair.

The letter came in response to an order by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to abolish a number of Majlis laws on domestic matters.
