      Der Iran hat nach Geheimdienstinformationen kürzlich ein Verfahren getestet, um hochangereichertes Uran aus abgebrannten Kernbrennstoffen zu gewinnen. Die Ergebnisse sollen demnächst Irans Führung vorgelegt werden. Dies geht aus einem dreiseitigen Geheimdienstbericht aus einem Mitgliedland der Internationalen Atomenergiebehörde (IAEA) hervor, welcher der Nachrichtenagentur AP vorliegt. Iran steht unter Druck, sein Programm zur Anreicherung von Uran mit Hilfe von Zentrifugen zu stoppen. Die USA und andere Länder vermuten einen militärischen Zweck des Programms.

Die fünf ständigen Mitglieder des UN-Sicherheitsrates und Deutschland hatten zuletzt im September an das Mullah-Regime appelliert, die Anreicherung von Uran einzustellen und „ein klares Zeichen des Einlenkens“ zu setzen – ohne indessen mit einer Verschärfung der Sanktionen zu drohen.

    Teheran – Im Sommer 2005 waren sie noch Feuer und Flamme für ihren Bürgermeister, den Revolutionär aus den eigenen Reihen, der trotz seines Doktortitels einer von ihnen blieb: Mit seinem verrosteten Auto fuhr er im Teheraner Arbeiter- und Mittelschichtviertel Pars herum, wo er ein bescheidenes Haus besitzt. Hossein, Akbar und Jasser gehören wie Mahmud Ahmadinedschad zu den Männern in Irans Hauptstadt, die für die islamische Revolution Khomeinis 1979 und im achtjährigen Iran-Irak-Krieg an vorderster Front gekämpft haben. Inzwischen jedoch verweigern dem Staatspräsidenten sogar die Revolutionäre aus dem innersten ideologischen Zirkel die Gefolgschaft. Für die Präsidentenwahl im Juni 2009, bei der Ahmadinedschad wieder antreten will – auch wenn er momentan zu kränkeln scheint – bedeutet das nichts Gutes.
    Auch heute noch sind Jasser, der Pilgerreisen nach Mekka organisiert, der Beamte Hossein und der Kaufmann Akbar völlig überzeugt davon, dass ihr Land mit dem Sturz des Schahs und der islamischen Revolution den richtigen Weg gegangen ist. Und die drei Männer, die alle den charakteristischen Drei-Tage-Bart der Religiösen und einfache Hemden ohne Krawatte tragen, wären jederzeit bereit, ihr Land im Kriegsfall mit ihrem Leben zu verteidigen. Als wahre Gläubige, als die sie sich sehen, gehören sie zu dem Millionenheer der Basidschi – freiwilliger Paramilitärs -, denen die Religion alles ist und für die der Märtyrertod eine Ehre wäre.

     Am Dienstag hat sich in Berlin ein breites gesellschaftliches Bündnis gegen das iranische Atomprogramm vorgestellt.
    Stephan Kramer vom Zentralrat der Juden in Deutschland, Mohammed Schams vom Koordinierungsrat deutscher Nicht-Regierungsorganisationen gegen Antisemitismus, Ulrike Becker und Jonathan Weckerle, die Initiatoren des STOP THE BOMB Bündnisses, stellten die Kampagne vor.
    Der Aufruf der Kampagne wird von über 120 prominenten Erstunterzeichnern unterstützt. Darunter Vertreter/innen aller Parteien, wie der grüne Bundestagsabgeordnete Josef Winkler und Petra Pau, Bundestagsabgeordnete für DIE LINKE, 2 Mitglieder des Europäischen Parlaments (Helga Trüpel und Paulo Casaca) und drei Mitglieder von Landesparlamenten. Außerdem Dr. h.c. Johannes Gerster (CDU), Präsident der Deutsch-Israelischen Gesellschaft und von sozialdemokratischer Seite der Arbeitskreis jüdischer Sozialdemokratinnen und Sozialdemokraten und Klaus Faber Staatssekretär a.D.. Zu den Erstunterzeichnern gehören auch Lala Süsskind, die Vorsitzende der Jüdischen Gemeinde zu Berlin und prominente MenschenrechtsaktivistInnen aus der internationalen exiliranischen Community wie Iraj Mesdaghi und Hassan Daioleslam, Vertreter von Gewerkschaften, der Wissenschaft, aus dem Bereich des christlich-jüdischen Dialogs und aus der Kultur, darunter zum Beispiel die Schauspielerin Iris Berben, die Literaturnobelpreisträgerin Elfriede Jelinek, die Rechtsanwältin und Autorin Seyran Ates, der Historiker und Publizist Prof. Arno Lustiger und viele mehr.

Seine zaghaften Reformversuche – die samt und sonders scheiterten – bezogen sich jedenfalls nicht darauf, keine minderjährigen Homosexuellen mehr an Baukränen zu erhängen oder sich mit Israel auszusöhnen.

      ACHGU      T       –        Freiburg fühlt sich geehrt – Henryk M. Broder
      Die Badische Zeitung in Freiburg, die sich öfter durch allerlei Analysen der Weltlage „aus südbadischen Augen“ hervorgetan hat (http://www.achgut.com/dadgdx/index.php/dadgd/article/aus_suedbadischen_augen/), kann sich vor Freude über den Besuch des iranischen Ex-Präsidenten in Freiburg nicht einkriegen. Aus südbadischen Augen betrachtet, ist der Vorgänger Ahmadinejads „gemäßigt und reformorientiert“, was er unter anderem damit bewies, dass während seiner Amtszeit die Städtepartnerschaft zwischen Freiburg und Isfahan beschlossen wurde. Das mag so sein, aber wenn Khatami „gemäßigt und reformorientiert“ ist, dann ist die Badische Zeitung die deutsche Ausgabe der NYT. Hier der Beweis:

    An der Freiburger Universität ist mit Chatami gerade eine Galionsfigur des iranisch-islamistischen Terrors aufgetreten und soweit mir bekannt ist, nutzte der dortige Rektor die Gelegenheit nicht, dem Irren zumindest deutlich die Meinung zu sagen…Dafür müsste wohl schon einer vom Kaliber Josef Ackermanns kommen, da würde es bestimmt krachen. Oder auch nicht, weil sich die politische Studentenschaft kollektiv dagegen wehren würde, dass so einem Verbrecher (weil Banker) an der Universität ein Podium geboten wird.
    Aber so war es ja nur ein älterer Herr, der ein Tuch um den Kopf gewickelt hat und eine Rede hält. Außerdem hat er mit eigenen Händen bestimmt noch nie eine Frau gesteinigt oder einen Schwulen gehängt. In einer Bekanntmachung der Uni Freiburg ist man darum stolz auf die Kontakte zum aktuell angesagtesten Land für Antizionisten und Judenhasser. Gleich im ersten Satz einer Pressemitteilung steht: „Ehemaliger iranischer Staatspräsident Dr. Mohammad Khatami sprach in der Universität Freiburg – einzige Universität Deutschlands mit aktiver Universitätspartnerschaft mit einer iranischen Universität.“
    Warum besteht diese Partnerschaft eigentlich?

    Iran’s supreme leader said Wednesday that his country’s hatred for the United States runs deep and differences between the two nations go beyond a „few political issues.“
    Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s comments on state-run television less than a week before the American presidential elections were seen as a signal that a thaw in US-Iran relations was not expected no matter who wins the Nov. 4 race. Khamenei said the hatred is rooted in 50 years of US intervention in Iran’s domestic affairs and hostility toward Teheran.
    „The hatred of the Iranian nation is deep-seated.“
    „The reason is the various conspiracies by the US government against the Iranian people and government in the past 50 years,“ Khamenei said.
    He was addressing a group of students in Teheran days ahead of the 29th anniversary of the 1979 storming of the US Embassy in Teheran by militant     students.

    Die International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) hat den iranischen Nationalverband bis zum 1. Januar 2013 von allen Wettbewerben der Behinderten ausgeschlossen und zusätzlich eine Strafe von 5000 US-Dollar verhängt. Bei den Paralympics in Peking waren die iranischen Rollstuhlbasketballer im Viertelfinale nicht gegen das Team der USA angetreten. Daraufhin beschloss die IWBF nun auf ihrer Sitzung im kanadischen Winnipeg den iranischen Verband nach einer Anhörung zu sperren. Dies teilte der Deutsche Rollstuhl-Sportverband am Mittwoch mit.
    Nach einer starken Vorrunde bei den Paralympics sollten die Iraner zum Viertelfinalduell gegen die Mannschaft der USA antreten. Bei einer Niederlage wäre das Team aus Vorderasien auf Israel getroffen.

    Defense minister meets with EU ambassadors over Tehran nuclear threat, warns that ’so long as Russia, China and India do not join the nations imposing
    „The Iranians are determined to develop nuclear power, and we believe it is delusional to think otherwise. Iran’s plan jeopardizes both regional stability and that of the entire world,“ Defense Minister Ehud Barak said on Wednesday evening in a meeting with European Union ambassadors.
    Barak lashed out against Russia, India and China for continuing to do business with Tehran at a time when most of the West is seeking to further tighten the sanctions imposed on the Islamic Republic.
    „So long as Russia, China and India do not join the nations imposing sanctions on Iran, it will have allies to do business with,“ said Barak. The defense minister briefed the EU envoys on a number of state and defense issues relevant to the Middle East, as well as Israel’s continued efforts to rally world opinion against Iran’s nuclear program.

Americans have not only refused to apologize for their acts, but have also continued with their hegemony. We are for safeguarding our identity, independence, and dignity and are against fighting“.
    „However, anybody willing not to honor the Iranian nation’s identity and independence will have their hands cut off by the Iranian nation.“
    Khamenei was speaking to a group of students and academics on the eve of 13th Aban (November 3), marking the National Day of Campaign against Global Arrogance and the anniversary of 1979 takeover of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran by students.
    He said that that the U.S. will not be able to dissuade the Iranian nation from the path of independence, dignity, and prosperity, and added, „The most important duty of the young generation is feeling responsible for the destiny of the country. The difference between Iran and the U.S. is far beyond difference of opinion. The U.S. will not be able to prevent Iran from treading the path of independence and prosperity. The Iranian nation will ascend peaks of science, power, welfare and honor.“
    He said that the victory of the Islamic Revolution, led by Imam Khomeini, and the failure of global arrogance in Iran, were all due to the young generation feeling responsible for destiny of the country.
    „Today too, Iran and the Iranian nation are in dire need of the youth feeling responsible. The youths, who are the would-be officials and planners of the country, should try to strengthen their faith, insight and scientific awareness and capability to fulfill the heavy responsibility (of standing up to global arrogance).“
    Elsewhere in his address, Khamenei questioned the reason for all problems and differences between Iran and the U.S., and said the answer lay in careful study of the issue, because the differences between Iran and the U.S. are far beyond differences over certain political issues.
    He added that because of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, the U.S. lost its main base at the heart of the Middle East, which is also the world’s oil rich spot. Thus, he said, Iran turned into bastion for campaign against the U.S. hegemony through its motto of campaign against injustice and arrogance and defense of the rights of nations.
    Khamenei said that once expelled from Iran, the Americans started to launch espionage activities through their embassy in Tehran against the Islamic establishment of Iran, but to no avail.
    „The huge movement of Muslim students following path of the late Imam (Khomeini) thwarted their conspiracy,“ he said.
    The Supreme Leader advised Iran’s youth to study books containing documents obtained from the U.S. Embassy in Tehran after its takeover and also to obtain information on role of the Embassy in Iran both before and after the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
    Commenting on the result of the U.S.-Iran confrontation, Ayatollah Khamenei said that the propaganda apparatus of the West, especially the U.S., pretend that outcome of such a confrontation would be Iran’s defeat and the U.S.’s success but that „that’s a sheer lie because the way ends in a deadlock for the arrogant U.S. regime. Had the U.S. wished to defeat Iran, it would have done it when the nation was less experienced and had little scientific and military capabilities. It couldn’t do so in those times and now the Iranian nation is more powerful and capable than the past. Definitely it will not be able to do that.“ Khamenei added that the true nature of the U.S. democracy has become known to all through its hostile attitude towards the popular government of Hamas in Palestine, forcing Iraqi popular government to sign a security deal and raising baseless charges against Iran, whose officials have been chosen by public vote.
    „Today, the U.S. government has lost its face to the extent that wherever the U.S. president travels, people hold demon
    Noting that the Iranian nation and officials owe their success and victory to their resistance, Khamenei said, „This does not mean that there is no problem. The reason for all problems is failure to show resistance whenever needed. The key to public victory and unity is unity between the nation and government as well as officials.“
    He also warned, „All should be careful not to play in the ground prepared by the enemy… God willing, the Iranian nation will definitely leave behind difficulties and ascend to peaks of success.“

    Following the fall in oil prices, the Amir Kabir University students‘ movement newspaper ridiculed statements by Iranian President Ahmadinejad from mid-July 2008 that „oil prices will never drop below $100.“
    The paper added that Ahmadinejad’s economic advisors were deeply concerned about the price drop.
    The paper also quoted Iranian Minister of Labor and Social Services Mohammad Jahrami as saying that some 2.5 million of Iran’s 3 million unemployed are young people.

    Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said yesterday that Iran’s government is determined to administer justice in all affairs of the country.
    Addressing a large group of locals in the city of Khorramabad, the capital of the western province of Lorestan, he commented on the reasons behind the West’s financial crisis, saying, „Last night, I received the latest report on the U.S. debts. The U.S. government’s debt, in one case, stands at $10,570 billion.“
    He said that the U.S. authorities were blaming their budget deficit and economic problems on other nations, and that U.S. administration had plundered $1,500 from the pocket of every individual living on the earth.
    „The money goes into the pockets of several thousands of Zionists as well as corrupted and criminal capitalists,“ President Ahmadinejad said.
    He added, „They [apparently the Americans] are defeated in the areas of culture, politics, economy, and the military, and believe that they will again be able to fill their imperialist palaces by means of lies, deceit, and conspiracies. You yourselves are the root of corruption in the world and of human rights violations.“

    Iranian human rights activists report that many Tehran merchants who participated in the bazaar strikes across Iran early this month (see „Strikes Continue In Iran’s Bazaars“ ) have been arrested by the Intelligence Ministry and tortured in Evin prison.
    It was also reported that the ministry was pressuring the detainees‘ families to refrain from publicizing the arrests.

    Iranian Army naval commander Habibollah Sayyari has said that as part of the continued expansion of the navy’s operational units, new naval bases would be established in the near future at various points along the Gulf of Oman coast, at Bandar ‚Abbas and at Pasa Bandar.
