  1. Haaretz German firms seek to bypass Berlin sanctions on Iran  By Barak Ravid,

A business conference held in Hamburg last week discussed possible ways to circumvent the sanctions and instead increase trading ties with Tehran.
Foreign Ministry officials fumed over the fact that the conference was being held, to no avail.
According to a Jerusalem source, Israel received information last week that the conference, entitled „Sanctions on Iran and their practical implications on German companies,“ was slated to take place in Hamburg.

    1. spiegel.de – DEALING WITH TEHRAN Iran Could Blow Up in Obama’s Face  By Gregor Peter Schmitz
The world may be focused on Iraq, Afghanistan, and terror in India, but experts say the biggest foreign policy challenge for the next US president will be dealing with Iran. Obama has promised a new approach — but the risk of failure is great.
Between the financial crisis, bankruptcy in the US auto industry, and terrorism in Mumbai, the television sets in President-elect Barack Obama’s transition office in Chicago must be flickering with images from a host of crisis spots these days.
Amidst it all, the news from Vienna could easily be missed: According to information from the International Atomic Energy Commission, Iran now has access to more than 630 kilograms of slightly enriched uranium, is building more and more centrifuges for enrichment, and is barely cooperating with inspectors. A successful nuclear test from Tehran is imaginable within a year, the nuclear watchdog warns.

Iranian Army Air Force commander Brig.-Gen. Hassan Shah-Safi announced that Iran has designed a radar-evading aircraft capable of taking out high-value targets without being detected by hostile radar systems.
Shah-Safi announced yesterday that the aircraft was designed by Iranian aerospace experts and that military researchers are now working on building a small prototype.
„The design of the aircraft has been completed and the preliminary models of these aircrafts are being constructed,“ the commander said.
The new stealth aircraft employs a combination of features to reduce visibility in visual, audio, infrared and radio frequency (RF) spectra, Iran’s Press TV reported.

„I think we will finish research on the project by the end of the year (the Iranian calendar year ending in March) and then we will enter the production phase,“ Shah-Safi said.
