    Nach Meinung des iranischen Präsidenten Mahmoud Ahmadinejad steht der Zusammenbruch des Kapitalismus bevor. Nach dem Kollaps des sozialistischen Wirtschaftssystems sei nun auch die freie Marktwirtschaft gescheitert, erklärte Ahmadinejad am Mittwoch in einer vom Fernsehen übertragenen Ansprache zur Eröffnung eines regionalen Wirtschaftsgipfels in Teheran.

Der Sabbatgottesdienst kann erst dann beginnen, wenn mindestens zehn Männer anwesend sind.     Nach dem Besuch von US-Außenministerin Hillary Clinton ist der türkische Staatspräsident Gül in den Iran gereist. Gül will in Teheran Gespräche mit Präsident Ahmadineschad sowie dem geistlichen Führer Ayatollah Ali Khamenei führen.     Nur wenige Tage nach dem Besuch von US-Außenministerin Hillary Clinton in Ankara ist der türkische Staatspräsident Abdullah Gül am Dienstag zu Gesprächen mit der iranischen Führung nach Teheran gereist. Mit dem Amtsantritt der neuen US-Regierung habe eine neue Ära begonnen, sagte Gül vor seiner Abreise in Ankara nach Angaben des Nachrichtensenders CNN-Türk. Nach Presseberichten will Gül die Iraner auffordern, das Gesprächsangebot der neuen US-Regierung anzunehmen.

    The human rights group says the Iranian legal system unfairly discriminates against women and is demanding an immediate moratorium on the penalty.
    Under Iranian law women are buried up to their breasts before stones are dropped on them. Its penal code states the stones used should „not be large enough to kill the person by one or two strikes; nor should they be so small that they could not be defined as stones“.
    Women are more likely to be stoned to death because of their unequal treatment before the law and courts, in what Amnesty says is a clear violation of international standards.
    A woman’s testimony is worth half that of a man and the age of criminal responsibility is lower, making Iranian women especially vulnerable to conviction for adultery.

Blair betonte, die USA und Israel hätten das gleiche Material ausgewertet, kämen aber aufgrund unterschiedlicher Betroffenheit und Interessen zu entgegengesetzten Ergebnisses. Beide ließen allerdings offen, ob der Iran eine solche Option anstrebe und wann er damit Erfolg haben könnte.

    The „technological threshold“ is a Military Intelligence term for an expression they thought was too deterministic: the point of no return.
    It means that Iran has the know-how, the resources and the equipment to make a nuclear weapon. But the MI chief’s assessment is not necessarily based on sensitive, classified information. It was clearly written in the latest International Atomic Energy Agency report. Iran has 4000 active centrifuges. These produce the low-grade enrichment of more than a ton of uranium.

     Interpol says it is studying a request from Iran for 25 Israeli officials to be placed on its most-wanted list over Israel’s offensive in Gaza.
    The international police agency says it took the unusual step of confirming the request publicly, as Iranian government officials have made their request public. Interpol says in a statement released Tuesday that its legal team is studying the Iranian request for the issuance of 25 red notices, the highest-level alert Interpol issues. The Lyon, France-based agency says it received the request Saturday.

    Iranian Armed Forces chief of staff Maj.-Gen. Hassan Firouzabadi yesterday warned enemies of Iran’s crushing response to any possible aggression.
    He said that the stakes of an attack on the country would be too high for the enemy to risk violating Iran’s sovereignty.
    Speaking to reporters yesterday, Firouzabadi said, „The enemy can no longer afford to threaten Iran, as they would not be able to cover the cost of such a move.“
    The remarks came after Israeli military intelligence chief Major General Amos Yadlin claimed on March 8 that Iran had „crossed the technological threshold“ to build a nuclear bomb.
    He also said that despite the alleged changes in the new U.S. administration, „nothing specific has yet happened except a number of sanctions against Iran.“

    The Iranian news agency Fars reported that Iran has successfully armed its fighter jets with a new type of air-to-surface missiles.
    The missiles, which have a range of 110km, were successfully mounted onto the fighter jets and test-fired.
    Experts from the Iranian Armed Forces in charge of the project told Fars that the air-to-surface missile, weighing 500kg, can hit and destroy maritime targets up to 110 kilometers in distance.

    The Iranian Sunni opposition organization Jundallah has said that in the March 7 battle with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) near Zahedan, in Sistan-Baluchistan province in southeastern Iran, Jundallah killed 15 IRGC troops.

    Another citizen reportedly threw a turban.
    Ahmadinejad’s media advisor, Ali Akhbar Javanfekr, who was not accompanying Ahmadinejad on his visit, denied the report.
    The shoe-thrower was not apprehended.
