Two weeks ago it emerged the Israeli Chief Rabbinate had been keeping a list of diaspora rabbis whose authority to rule on somebody’s Jewishness it had rejected.The “blacklist” consisted of ministers who had vouched for the Jewishness of individuals seeking to apply for aliyah under the law of return.
