Introduction
One serious result of the war that has been raging in Syria for over four years is the exploitation of underage girls, including being married off by their families. While such marriages were taking place in Syria before the war – in 2010, the Syrian parliament had even held a workshop in conjunction with the United Nations on the problem[1] – there has been a significant increase in such cases in the country since the war began.
