Israel logged 2,435 new coronavirus infections over the last 24 hours, according to an update to the Health Ministry’s website on Saturday evening.
This represents the fifth straight day that Israel sees upward of 2,000 new cases of the virus.
Of the 98,759 tests conducted, 2.49% returned a positive result.
As of Saturday evening, 201 patients were in serious condition, the highest since April. This includes 31 patients on artificial lung ventilation.
The number of active cases was upward of 18,000.
