Indirekt von der Israelischen Botschaft in Berlin… Traurig! Es is mehr als zu hoffen, dass sich die Situation schnellstens verbessern wird!
Israel in Deutschland: „Dear Prime Minister Netanyahu,
On behalf of the Foreign Ministry’s personnel working in Jerusalem and its various diplomatic missions around the globe, welcome to Athens.
Upon the arrival of yourself and Mrs. Netanyahu you will be received, as always, by Foreign Ministry personnel – those who always toil day and night to make the arrangements for your successful visits, coordinate all aspects of such visits to their smallest detail and initiate events. Thus, it is Foreign Ministry personnel that once more enabled a successful Israeli Prime Ministerial visit –as they do to numerous destinations around the world – assisting your international campaign and helping to realize another achievement in Israel’s international success- together with you and for the people of Israel.
Let us recall that our Embassy in Athens, just like more than hundred other Embassies around the world, has been working with no real budget for a long time, which seriously harms Israel’s national interest and their valuable daily function in many crucial spheres.
Where are we heading, and how will it be possible to carry on much longer, when the prolonged daily reality is that we are no longer able to continue to perform even the most basic diplomatic functions, those essential to promote the foreign agenda of the Government of Israel vis-à-vis its international counterparts?
Prime Minister, you are well aware of the war the Finance Ministry has been waging against Israel’s representatives from the Foreign, Defense and Economy Ministries serving abroad – constantly harming and eroding their livelihood and work conditions.
As someone who himself served in the most important diplomatic postings, you know the importance of the work of diplomats. Who more than you is better able to estimate the long-term damage caused by the crippling of those working in the diplomatic forefront? Surely You know them to be a real national asset for the advancement of the interests of the state of Israel, the unsung heroes whose work has recently been put under constant attacks by the Finance Ministry.
We call upon you, as you have promised several times in the past, to intervene immediately and stop the abuse by the Ministry of Finance.
We are confident in your ability to find a satisfactory solution to this stalemate, and wish you success in your visit to Greece, whose importance is evident.
The family of Foreign Ministry Personnel and their representatives“
