A vocal critic of the Palestinian Authority (PA) died Thursday while Palestinian security forces were attempting to carry out his arrest from his home, near the ancient West Bank town of Hebron.
Nizar Banat, who was a parliamentary candidate for the controversially canceled Palestinian elections, attacked PA President Mahmoud Abbas for that move – which would have been the first time ballots were cast in almost 15 years.
