Zum Antworten anmeldenIm Statement steht: „the construction of new settlements or the expansion of existing settlements beyond their current borders may not be helpful in achieving that goal.“ Für mich ist diese Aussage eindeutig.

The statement that came out of the White House yesterday is huge. It represents a complete reversal of previous administration positions — especially Obama’s. All the bad words have been excised (2-state solution, illegal, illegitimate…). It implicitly recognizes Israel’s right to build inside every single settlement (not just in the blocs), and opens up for discussion Israel’s right to build everywhere, even beyond existing settlements.
The White House’s message is that it is in Netanyahu’s hands to decide the future of future.
