Wiesenthal Center shames Croatian government – Croatia has a new government that has promised reforms, but at least one Minister that the Wiesenthal Center believes is in the wrong side of history. | New Europe

The Director of the Simon Wiesenthal Center office, Efraim Zuroff, will file an official complaint to the Croatian government concerning its Minister of Culture, Zlatko Hasanbegović. Hasanbegović suggests that the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, al-Husseini, was a victim of historical circumstances, British colonialism, and militant Zionism rather than a Nazi sympathizer. He has also said that antifascism is just “empty words.”
