Malcolm Hoenlein & How the West is Hurting Chances for Peace | Our Middle East | YouTube
Are the Western media and governments making peace in the region more difficult to attain?
In this episode of “Our Middle East,” cohosts Dan Diker and Khaled Abu Toameh have on Malcolm Hoenlein, the vice chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, to discuss.
They hold that although Israeli-Palestinian relations have worsened, relations between Arab countries and Israel have never been better with further normalization agreements on the horizon. Despite the Palestinian leadership still believing that the Arab world should support them unconditionally, Arab countries are now willing to break ranks.
On other hand, many in the Western media, governments and even some Jewish organizations have adopted the idea of the centricity of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and have criticized Israel as being the bad actor in the region.
What effect is this having on the conflict? Is this bringing the region closer to peace? and is this even helping the Palestinians?
