Berlin (dpa) – Germany‘s Jewish communities view the high number of refugees from the Middle East entering the country with mixed emotions, leaders said Sunday as they marked the traditional Day of Good Deeds, or Mitzvah Day, with a welcome for immigrants.“On the one hand, we feel great empathy, on the other we wonder what attitude they have to Israel and to Jews in general,“ Josef Schuster, chairman of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, told dpa.
