    „UNO-Sanktionen gegen Teheran missachtet“
    Bern (APA/sda) – Der Schweizerische Israelitische Gemeindebund (SIG) zeigt sich „bestürzt und sehr enttäuscht“ über den Abschluss des Gasliefervertrages zwischen der Schweiz und dem Iran. Die Schweiz missachte damit den Sinn der UNO-Sanktionen gegen Teheran.
    Diese Haltung sei unverständlich, heißt es in einem Kommuniqué des SIG vom Dienstag. Die Schweiz unterstütze mit dem Liefervertrag ein Land, das die Menschenrechte verhöhne und offiziell Antisemitismus propagiere. „Die Juden der Schweiz fühlen sich dadurch direkt betroffen“, schreibt der SIG.

      Was war das doch anno 2007 für ein tolles Bild! Micheline Calmy-Rey im Hosenanzug, einem schwarzen Dreiteiler, also mit Gilet, den Gürtel modisch auf Hütfhöhe – ein kecker Pony und ein breite sDimitri-Lachen unterstreichen die selbstsichere Fröhlichkeit der Bundespräsidentin.
      Und jetzt das: Micheline Calmy-Rey unter einem weissen Kopftuch und mit verkniffenem Mund bei Ahmadinedschad, dem islamistischen Präsidenten des Iran, vor kurzem noch Gastgeber von Holocaust-Leugnern, schon immer ein unverbesserlicher Hetzer gegen das Existenzrecht Israels.
      Was ist bloss in Calmy-Rey gefahren? Die Aussenministerin hatte Teheran besucht, um der Unterzeichnung eines Gasgeschäfts zwischen der Elektrizitätsgesellschaft Laufenburg und der iranischen Gasexport-Gesellschaft Nigec ihren bundesrätlichen Segen zu erteilen. Ein
      «Gegengeschäft», wie eilfertig versichert wurde. Alles «dans l’ordre des choses»? Alles «business as usual»?
      Wenn es ums Geld geht, dealt die Schweiz seit jeher noch mit den düstersten Despoten, warum also nicht mit einem Dschihadisten? Für klingende Münze erträgt man auch die Kritik der Amerikaner, die der Meinung sind, das schweizerisch-iranische Gasgeschäft verletze den Geist der Sanktionen gegen das Regime der Mullahs.

    Interim Friday prayer leader for Tehran Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati said in his sermon today that the U.S. presence in Iraq had brought nothing but misery and misfortune, saying „America’s five-year military presence in Iraq has had nothing special for people of the country but misery and damage. Iraq is entangled with many problems now.“
    Ayatollah Jannati told a crowd of worshipers at the Tehran University campus that „Iraqi popular armed forces in Basra“ should „hold talks with the Iraqi popular government and pass their opinion to the government through talks.“ He added that he recommends that „the Iraqi government heed the forces‘ views and solve problems eventually in a way that would be to the interest of all.“
    He slammed the Muslim world, especially the Organization of the Islamic Conference, for keeping silent against enormous brutality and oppression in Iraq.
    „It is not clear why Muslim countries, especially the OIC member states, do not show any reaction against so much injustice and oppression in Iraq, while such measures could be easily prevented through unity and solidarity,“ he said.
    Jannati also praised Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei’s naming of the new Iranian year one of innovation and prosperity, adding, „Innovation is a dynamic and constant move and it cannot be stopped under any conditions. So the movement should continue in a well-calculated, prudent, speedy, logical, and wise manner, so as to compensate for the country’s scientific and industrial backwardness.“
    The Iranian new year began March 21.
    He also praised the strong turnout for the „healthy“ parliamentary elections on March 14.

    The director of Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), Ezatollah Zarghami, told reporters in Moscow yesterday, March 27, that Iran’s big nuclear festival, for which the IRIB has arranged extensive programs, is to be held April 8.
    Zarghami said, „Peaceful nuclear technology is the absolute right of the Iranian nation, and has been gained without foreign aid.“
    He added that relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Russia date back more than 400 years.
    Zarghami then denounced the U.S.’s deployment of a missile shield in Eastern Europe as aimed at confronting Russia, saying that during the monarchical regime in Iran, the U.S. would terrify the Iranian people about the former Soviet Union. He added that Iran was willing to promote media cooperation with Russia and to use its satellite technology.
    He added that he had reached an agreement with Russian state TV’s Ch. 2 over exchanges of movies, serials, documentaries, and children’s cartoons.

    During central Friday prayers in the city of Khoramshahr, in southwest Iran, prayer leader Ayatollah Abolhassan Nouri stated that there was evidence and documentation indicating that fraud and bribery were involved in the recent parliamentary election and in the votes in the city of Khoramshahr itself.
