[…] On 26 June 2003, a symposium, „Against Antisemitism in the Media,“ was held in the parliament building, attended by journalists, public figures and members of the federal parliament, who discussed reporting in the written and electronic press on the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians. There was general agreement that the coverage was one-sided. Sponsors of the symposium were the Moses Mendelsohn Center for European Jewish Studies of Potsdam University, the Social Democrat Studies Forum of Berlin, Brandenburg and Mecklenburg, and the Social Democracy cultural forum, „Honestly Concerned,“ represented by Sacha Stawski, a media expert on Israel.

Honestly Concerned began its activities in May 2002, mainly as a private initiative of Sacha Stawski. It watches media reporting on two major issues, on anti-Semitism and Israel. It is staffed by both Christians and Jews, and much of their work is posted on their website. They have three mailing lists: the first is for frequent updates, the second is a weekly summary edition, and the third is occasional, informing those on the list of special events. „Wo ist die Trennlinie zwischen kritischer Berichterstattung und Antisemitismus?“ Dieser ausgesprochen wichtigen und derzeit hoch im Kurs stehenden Frage wollte ein Panorama Bericht vom gestrigen Donnerstag nachgehen. Doch bereits im Ankündigungstext konnte man lesen, wo der Hase hinläuft: „Tatsächlich wird der Begriff oft missbraucht, um Journalisten und Politiker einzuschüchtern. PANORAMA über die leichtfertige Verwendung des Wortes Antisemitismus.“
