    Schwule, Demokraten, den US-Dollar – Mahmud Ahmadinedschad beschimpft eigentlich alles und jeden. Zum 60-jährigen Staatsjubiläum hat er Israel erneut die „Vernichtung“ prophezeit. SPIEGEL ONLINE dokumentiert die heftigsten Zitate des Pöbel-Präsidenten.
    Hamburg – Mahmud Ahmadinedschad ist kein einfacher Präsident. Er ist ein Pöbel-Potentat. Ein Holzhammer-Diplomat mit Schaum vor dem bartumkränzten Mund, der einen verbalen Dschihad gegen seine Gegner ausficht. Manche seiner Drohungen sind schlicht absurd. Im November 2007 behauptete Irans Präsident beispielsweise, die US-Wirtschaft stehe unmittelbar vor dem Zusammenbruch. Der Dollar sein „nur noch ein wertloses Stück Papier“.
    Andere Drohungen sind nicht nur absurd, sondern obendrein gewaltverherrlichend und volksverhetzend: Jüngstes Beispiel sind die Verbalattacken, die Ahmadinedschad gegen Israel abfeuerte – pünktlich zu dessen 60-jährigem Staatsjubiläum.

    The shareholders of the giant Austrian energy concern OMV gathered yesterday in Vienna to hear a report from the management about the company’s 23 billion euro deal with Iran. Under the terms of the deal OMV, which is in effect controlled by the Austrian government, would invest in developing the Pars gas field in southern Iran in exchange for liquid natural gas, transported by tanker and by pipeline. In this way, Austria hopes to diversify its energy suppliers and reduce its dependence on Russian gas.
    The implications of the discussion in Vienna could contribute, if indirectly, to answering the main question that is preoccupying Israeli political and military leaders: Will Israel be forced to attack Iran’s nuclear sites? Despite the avid interest in the corruption scandals surrounding Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, that is the real issue with which the country’s decision makers and security figures are wrestling.

      The directors of OMV, the largest oil and gas company in Central Europe, were asked uncomfortable questions on Wednesday about the moral and financial propriety of the €22 billion deal OMV signed in April 2007 to produce liquefied natural gas from Iran’s South Pars gas field.
      Protesters from Vienna’s Stop the Bomb organization distributed flyers at the start of OMV’s annual stockholder meeting here on Wednesday, outlining Teheran’s military threat to Israel and its persecution of minority groups in Iran.
      Was the company’s investment in Iran a „miscalculation“ because of the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program and the sanctions imposed for violating United Nations Security Council resolutions calling for the regime to halt enrichment of uranium, asked Dr. Hava Bugajer, an OMV shareholder and president of the Women’s International Zionist Organization in Austria.

      Bei der OMV-Versammlung am Mittwoch werden Proteste wegen des Gasdeals im Iran erwartet. Ebenso könnten sich MOL-Sympathisanten zu Wort melden. 
      OMV-Klage gegen MOL abgewiesen  » Kritische Stimmen wegen eines geplanten Iran-Geschäfts, aber auch „Input“ zur ungarischen MOL könnten am Mittwoch die Hauptversammlung der OMV kennzeichnen. Die OMV will sich von den Aktionären u.a. die Ausschüttung einer Dividende von 1,25 Euro und den Aktienoptionsplan für 2008 absegnen lassen.
      Proteste angekündigt
      Wie berichtet hat die Plattform „Stop the bomb – Bündnis gegen das iranische Vernichtungsprogramm“ Proteste und Aktionärsanfragen wegen eines geplanten milliardenschweren Entwicklungsprojekts für das iranische South-Pars-Gasfeld angekündigt. Bereits im Vorfeld hat der in Berlin ansässige „Koordinierungsrat deutscher Nicht-Regierungsorganisationen gegen Antisemitismus“ die „halbstaatliche Österreichische Mineralölverwaltung“ aufgefordert, von dem Geschäft Abstand zu nehmen. Der Iran plane einen „Völkermord“, heißt es in einer Aussendung der Initiative. Über das Projekt existiert bisher lediglich ein Vorvertrag.

      Die Hauptversammlung der OMV hat am Mittwoch wie erwartet die Ausschüttung einer Dividende von 1,25 Euro pro Aktie beschlossen. Ausgezahlt soll sie am 20. Mai werden. Darüber hinaus besetzte die Aktionärsversammlung zwei Aufsichtsratsposten neu. Zusätzlich gab es Kritik am OMV-Vorstand wegen eines geplanten Gas-Geschäfts mit dem Iran sowie wegen des Zusammenschlusses mit der ungarischen MOL.

    Proteste gegen die Iran-Geschäfte der OMV verhallen auf der Hauptversammlung. Aktionäre stellen unbequeme Fragen zur versuchten Übernahme der ungarischen MOL.
    WIEN. Angekündigte Revolutionen finden selten statt. Die Stimmung unter den OMV-Aktionären vor der Hauptversammlung am Mittwoch war gespalten. Auf der einen Seite Anteilseigner, die zufrieden mit dem florierenden Geschäft und in Erwartung einer auf 1,25 Euro je Aktie erhöhten Dividende in die Hallen des Austria Center Vienna schritten. Auf der anderen Seite kritische Aktionisten, die im Mineralölkonzern vor allem eines sehen: Einen Kollaborateur mit dem „menschenverachtenden Regime“ im Iran.
    Bereits im Vorfeld verurteilten etliche Nicht-Regierungsorganisationen wie etwa der Jüdische Weltkongress oder die Lobbying-Plattform „Stop the Bomb“ den geplanten 22-Mrd.-Euro-Deal mit dem Iran aufs Schärfste. Die teilstaatliche OMV wurde aufgefordert, auf das Geschäft mit dem Iran zu verzichten, einem Staat, der wiederholt den Holocaust geleugnet und dem Staat Israel mit der Vernichtung gedroht habe.

Die Feiern zum 60-jährigen Staatsjubiläum würden den Staat nicht vor «Tod» und «Vernichtung» bewahren, sagte Ahmadinedschad am Mittwoch. Der Iran erkennt Israel nicht an. Der Hardliner Ahmadinedschad hat in der Vergangenheit bereits mehrfach mit der Vernichtung Israels gedroht. Auch den Holocaust stellte er bereits wiederholt infrage. Ahmadinedschad benutze in seiner Ansprache, die im staatlichen Fernsehen übertragen wurde, das arabische Wort «ismihlal». Es kann mit «Vernichtung», «Tod» oder «Zusammenbruch» übersetzt werden. In Jerusalem nahm unterdessen US-Präsident George W. Bush an den Feierlichkeiten zum Jubiläum der Staatsgründung teil und versicherte Israel der speziellen Freundschaft mit den USA. Israel betrachtet das fundamentalistische Regime im Iran wegen dessen umstrittenen Atomprogramm als große Bedrohung.

Daran ändere auch der 60. Jahrestag nichts. Grund für das Ende des jüdischen Staates sei der Hass anderer Länder.

    WASHINGTON, May 14 (UPI) — Northrop Grumman has announced plans for a groundbreaking ceremony for the facilities where the U.S. Air Force refueling tanker aircraft will be manufactured.
    The site of Northrop Grumman and its subcontractor EADS North America’s new manufacturing facility, in Mobile, Ala., will be home to two adjacent buildings where the new refueling tanker aircraft will be produced. The ceremony, at Mobile’s Brookley Field, is scheduled for June 28.
    The Air Force contracted Northrop Grumman for the KC-45 next-generation refueling tanker aircraft over Boeing’s proposed KC-767 tanker. Boeing has protested the decision, and officials say the ceremony has been scheduled pending the outcome of the Government Accountability Office review of the tanker contract award.
    „We anticipate a favorable decision and look forward to starting construction on this historic facility,“ Ronald Sugar, Northrop Grumman chairman and chief executive officer, said in a statement. „We’re committed to transforming Mobile into the centerpiece of an expanding aerospace corridor.“

Russland kommt weiterhin seinen Pflichten gegenüber Iran im Bereich der Atomenergetik nach, und zwar solange, wie der Iran seinen Pflichten nachkommt und somit die Möglichkeit einer internationalen Kontrolle über das Atomprogramm sichert. Das sagte der Vorsitzende des Föderationsrates, Sergej Mironow, am Mittwoch.
    „Russland wird seinen Pflichten nachkommen, solange Iran seine Pflichten zur Sicherung der IAEO-Kontrolle erfüllt. In dieser Hinsicht gibt es keine Bedrohung und kann es sie auch nicht geben. Schon gar nicht zu sprechen davon, dass die Technologien, die in der friedlichen Atomenergetik angewendet werden, weit bekannt und zugänglich sind“, sagte Mironow in Beantwortung von Journalistenfragen.

    (CNSNews.com) – Iran stepped up its attacks against the West Tuesday, accusing the U.S., Britain and Israel of being behind a deadly blast in mosque last month that killed 14 people.
    For weeks, officials dismissed speculation that the Apr. 12 blast in the southern city of Shiraz was caused by a bomb. That changed last week, when the intelligence ministry announced the arrest of six members of a terrorist group.
    President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told a press conference in Tehran Tuesday that those responsible for the blast had confessed to having ties with the Western countries.
    The attack was part of a longstanding plot to destabilize the Islamic republic, he said, adding without elaboration that Iran would bring those behind it to justice through „legal channels.“

  12. MEMRI IRANIAN MEDIA BLOG – Iranian Religious Circles Criticize Ahmadinejad’s Claims Of Contact With Hidden Imam
    An article in the Iranian daily Jomhouri-e Eslami, which is identified with the religious seminaries in Qom and with Hashemi Rafsanjani, calls on clerics to declare that they do not support statements by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad regarding his connections with the Hidden Imam, the Shi’ite messiah, because he is not knowledgeable in Islamic religious law.
    Also, Ayatollah Abo Al-Hassan Allah Bedashti, expert on the Hidden Imam, has called for Ahmadinejad’s removal from his post. He explained that the politicization of the Hidden Imam is against the Shi’a, and warned against the liars who appear and claim to have contact with him, as is written in Shi’ite tradition.

  21. MEMRI IRANIAN MEDIA BLOG – Saudi FM: Iranian Support For Lebanon Coup Will Negatively Impact Relations With Arab Countries; Iranian Daily: Saudis Planning Coup In Lebanon; Syrian Dailies Criticize Saudis
    Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Sa’ud Al-Faisal told a May 13 press conference in Riyadh that if Iran did indeed support a coup in Lebanon, it would negatively impact its relations with all Arab countries, and perhaps also with Muslim countries, and not only with Saudi Arabia.
    He said that the events in Lebanon were the result of a plan cooked up in advance, not the result of Hizbullah’s reaction to decisions by Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Al-Siniora.
    In response, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad accused Al-Faisal of acting against the opinion of Saudi King Abdallah.
    The Iranian daily Jomhouri-e Eslami stated, „Today is the day of the deposing of the Al-Sa’ud family, and the day they are exposed as those who, in the guise of friendship and brotherhood, are in fact acting in the service of Israel, America, and the enemies of Islam.“
    The paper also accused the Saudis of scheming to carry out a coup in Lebanon.

    Editorials in Syrian dailies harshly criticized Saudi Arabia following Saudi Foreign Minister Sa’ud Al-Faisal’s statements. The Syrian daily Al-Watan’s editor Wadhah Abd Raba wrote, „The time has come for Saudi Arabia to return to the fold of the Arab world and to stop funding and arming every element that declares enmity to the Arab resistance movements.“
    The Syrian government daily Teshreen wrote that Al-Faisal’s demand „to honor Lebanon’s sovereignty and not to interfere in its domestic affairs must apply to all forces in the region, headed by Saudi Arabia.“
